BETTER LIFE -- Celebrating
I want to take a second to celebrate life.
My 26th birthday is coming up and so much is right and wrong with my life, that I can't help but be glad to have one.
I truly believe that out of the mouth comes the abundance of the heart and lately I have found myself having discussions about some trivial things and nothing bothers me worse than triviality. As happy as I am to be alive, if I really think back on the conversations I have had, there are more fruitless ones than there are the other kind. Not that I'm always being negative or always saying mean things, but I just find that life is very short, and long; and because you can't ever really be sure about which end of it you're on, it's important to make each thing you do count.
Sure, you gotta just live and mistakes are bound to happen, but what if we all took a little more responsibility and lived with some more intention in every moment of every day?
What if we really listened or really took the time to answer questions?
Because I can even spend time thinking about this and then go on to type about it is a luxury of my beautiful life in and of itself.
I'm celebrating that. I'm celebrating that I have health at any level altogether. I'm celebrating my multicultural community. I'm celebrating my womanhood. I'm celebrating every kind of love. I'm celebrating freedom. I'm celebrating family. I'm celebrating kindness, goodness and all the beautiful things that they breed.
Life is good. And hard. And beautiful.
Lucky me. : )
Love,
Melissa
